Amy Adamo

Group Fitness Instructor. Massage Therapist. Operations Manager.

Amy has been part of the Evolutions family since 2014. After starting a pursuit as a physician assistant student at St. Francis University of PA, she slowly discovered the aspects of medicine that interested her most and fell into athletic training pursuing those interests.  After having spent the last 20 years working in collegiate sports medicine at the Division I level, most recently at the University of Maine, she has spent her career working very closely with athletes in a variety of sports and settings, evaluating, treating and rehabilitating not only their bodies, but their minds and hearts as well. She is a nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC), as well as a nationally certified massage therapist (MT) and a certified strength and conditioning specialist (NSCA-CSCS). She graduated from Saint Francis University in 1994 with a BS in Pre-Physical Therapy, and the University of Maine in 2006 with a M.Ed. in Kinesiology and Physical Education.

In addition to her athletic training career, Amy began her own massage business in Maine, Wellspring Muscle Therapy. After the birth of her daughter, she saw massage as a way to continue to incorporate all she had learned with her favorite part of treatment and rehabilitation – the hands-on personal connection with an individual regarding their health – but at a pace that was healthier for her and her family. “I love athletic medicine, but I didn’t want to sustain the lifestyle with my family. Massage gives me a way to continue to help people in their journey of health, to understand their body and to realize the connection they have to it. After watching athletes ask so much from their bodies, physically, mentally & emotionally over the last 20 years, I have seen first-hand the necessity of body care from the beginning to the end of the day. I have watched how one day affects the next, and I thrive in bringing people to a full understanding of that.”

Community outreach has become very important to Amy in her career. In Maine, she had volunteered her time in the local Penobscot Tribal Nation, helping them revise their annual Ralph K. Thomas 8K race and using her resources to generate interest and gifts for the event. She also designed and implemented a sports medicine lecture series at UMaine for the staff and local community. She believes in sharing what she has been given in knowledge and heart, and continues to look for ways to reach out to the greater Annapolis community as well.

Amy’s specialties are sports injuries, orthopedics, prevention and rehabilitation and deep tissue/sports massage, but her expertise has had to cover much more, including nutrition, counseling, teaching and more.

A PA native, Amy lives in Annapolis with her husband Joe (who can sometimes be seen teaching with her), daughter Grace and awesome pooch Kona. What she enjoys most is her family, and any time she can get outdoors…camping, hiking, snowshoeing, biking, gardening.
