This past Sunday was the first day of summer that I actually felt relaxed and tuned into the essence of what the season is all about. Summer is about slowing down, enjoying the quiet and letting go of the routine we usually live by during the school season. It is a time for completely letting go and sinking into the season. Up until this weekend, I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to feel what summer can truly feel like. It is a time to lighten up, in more ways than one.

With the heat upon us, it is also a great time to lighten up what you are putting into your body. Eating a heavy meal in the heat can make you feel sluggish, uncomfortable and heavy.
